Go WYSIWYG (wizzywig - What You See Is What You Get) with Dreamweaver!
This class will cover the basics you will need to know in order to create
simple web pages. Good for people new to Dreamweaver or as a refresher
course for those who have learned it on their own. Bring a disk to save your
work on!
Prerequisites: XHTML Basics or permission of the instructor.

basics will also be discussed. Time will be available for hands-on practice,

for Getting Started with Dreamweaver.

Learn how to use include files to simplify the maintenance of your web site!
Include files are great to use for menus, addresses, footers, headers, etc.
so you'll only have to edit them once instead of on every page on which they
have been included. It's easy!

Using CSS can simplify your XHTML code and give you greater control over
your web page designs. No more font and font size tags! YAY! You'll need
to be comfortable with looking at code, so this isn't for the faint at heart.

ugly library web sites! Learn what you can do to make your library's web
site user-friendly, attractive, and helpful.

Web bibliographies and pathfinders are now more useful than
ever before due to the ability to create links to OWLSnet online resources.
This class will teach you how to create direct links into InfoSoup, how
to use Gale Database Infomarks, and will give you ideas for great value-added
resources you can create for your library's web site. Time will be made
available for hands-on practice and exploration, so bring a disk to save
your work on.
Prerequisite: Getting Started with Dreamweaver or permission of the instructor.

Explore how to "touch up" already existing graphics, convert images
for the web, and more! We will be using Photoshop Limited Edition, which
will be made available for use on the OWLS lab computers during scheduled
open lab times.
