TidbitsIn the December 2006 issue of Tidbits, I focused on Internet Explorer 7 and its ins and outs. One of the things I don't like about it is that the Menu Bar is no longer easily accessible. Or so I thought! Today I stumbled on a little tip that brings the Menu Bar back. Here's how:

Access to things like Internet Options, Toolbars, and Pop-up Blocker controls return where you used to have it (more or less). Whew!
What?! MORE keyboard shortcuts?! Yup! I just can't help myself. You never know when the Excel geeks of the world might need something to make their day, so here goes. This one's for you, Rick!
| select column | CONTROL + SPACE |
| select row | SHIFT + SPACE |
| select A1 on current worksheet | CONTROL + HOME |
| select series of cells near each other | SHIFT + arrow key |
| cycle through worksheets | CONTROL + Page Up or Page Down |
| edit a cell | F2 |
| bring up "Format Cells" dialog box for current selection | CONTROL + 1 |
| format your current selection as currency | CONTROL + $ |
| format your current selection as a percentage | CONTROL + % |
| repeat your last action | F4 |
| hide and unhide rows | CONTROL + 9 and CONTROL + SHIFT + 9 |
| hide and unhide columns | CONTROL + 0 and CONTROL + SHIFT + 0 |
| adjust zoom | CONTROL + scroll wheel on mouse |
Celebrate the arrival of the weekend by making your very own comic strip at comeeko.com! You'll need to create a user account, but it's free. Once you're registered, just click on CREATE and follow the instructions on the screen. Comeeko allows you to upload your own images, then add thought bubbles or speech bubbles and other features to make a fun strip that's all your own. Enjoy!
Farewell until next time from the library system where all the computers are fast, all the books are worth reading, and all the librarians are above average!
