Edition! Did you know Google includes a calculator in its search tools? Just enter the numbers you want to calculate in the search box. It can handle addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, as well as any conversion needs you might have - teaspoons to tablespoons, miles to kilometers, etc.
Here are some Google Calculator search examples:
For complete information on how to use the Google calculator, go to http://www.google.com/help/calculator.html.
Sometimes there is more than one way to describe what you're searching for. Want a site for kids? What about one for children? Why do two different searches, one for kids and one for children, when you can use Google's synonym search.
To perform a synonym search, simply include a tilde (~) before the word you want the search to find synonyms for.
For example, the search
~inexpensive travel
will return results for affordable, inexpensive, cheap, or low cost travel.
Try it, you might like it!
Don't worry about your spelling, just type in your keywords in Google's search box and see what happens. If you misspelled something, Google will make a suggestion:

Clicking on the "Did you mean" link will redo your search with the correctly spelled word. Cool!
Google can help you find where you are going with its street map search. Simply enter the street address with the city and state in Google's search box.
For example, the search
225
N. Oneida St. Appleton WI
will return the following result:

Clicking on the main link
will take you to MapQuest where you can zoom in or out, print directions,
etc. Or, if you prefer Yahoo! Maps, you can select their link instead.
Tip: Don't try clicking on the map icon - it isn't a live link and won't take
you anywhere!
Farewell until next time from the library system where all the computers are fast, all the books are worth reading, and all the librarians are above average!
