The National Center for Early Defibrillation
A not-for-profit information resource center based at the University of Pittsburgh whose mission "is to foster optimal immediate care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest by providing leadership, expertise and information related to early defibrillation." This is the absolutely essential resource for anyone investigating the use and value of AED programs. It includes an overview, articles on the subject, research results, steps in establishing an AED program, legal information, demos, links, and more. Well-organized and and well-written.

FOH: Automated External Defibrillator Program
From Federal Occupational Health, a component of the United States Public Health Service, this site is designed to serve federal organizations. It includes the Federal Guidelines for an AED program and an FAQ page.

Results of Study on Effectiveness of Public Access Defibrillators
"The first major test of public-access defibrillators found that placing the devices in office buildings and shopping malls and training ordinary people to use them can double the chances of surviving cardiac arrest." A CNN article that presents a popular summary of initial research results.
