Background

Outagamie Waupaca Library System provides 4-6 continuing education activities each year. We also offer computer lab classes, online classes, and training by request. These activities, which are free, are designed for the professional development of OWLS librarians and trustees, but the programs may be attended by any library personnel interested in the topics in most cases. Registration for the programs is required.

View our Continuing Education Policy [pdf]. For more information about the continuing education program or certification, contact Beth.

WebJunction

OWLS has also purchased online courses from WebJunction that can be taken by any OWLS member library staff person at their convenience. Check the course catalog and contact Beth if you want to register for a class or if you have any questions.

Training by Request

OWLS provides Training By Request for our member libraries. Let us know if you would like any of the classes available. We're also willing to create new classes should the need arise, so let us know what you're interested in!

Scholarships

OWLS will make continuing education scholarships available to member library staff and trustees. See Guidelines for Continuing Education Scholarships for more information.

We also provide sponsorship of attendance at national conferences. Here's the info:

Good news! Project Play is going to continue, though on a less intense schedule. We'll post one topic per month, but we're adding an OPAL session for each topic so we can talk about the tool live. More details are available on the Project Play blog.
