Some sad farewells

| | Comments (0)

We have a couple of people leaving OWLS in 2008 - we are sad to have to say good-bye to Leslie and Vicki in January.

Leslie's last day will be Friday, January 4th, and we send our best wishes with her as she returns to full-time work. We have enjoyed having her at OWLS and know that she will succeed at her future position. We will be looking to fill the CE and Consulting Librarian position soon after her departure.

Vicki will be entering the world of retirement, but will be busy with her children and grandchildren, so don't think she'll just be putting her feet up! Her last day will be January 2nd. She will be sorely missed! We are currently reviewing applications for the Graphic Arts Specialist position and will be interviewing soon. Keep in mind that we may be without someone in the position for a short period of time, so your print jobs may be delayed. We appreciate your patience as we find a new person and get them settled in.

OWLS is looking for a creative person to design and produce promotional materials for our 16 member libraries. We need someone who is proficient with page layout software and can turn ideas and information into pleasing print documents.

While familiarity with public library services would be helpful, an independent, self-motivated person with good people and communications skills, appropriate software proficiency, organizational ability, and a desire to continuing learning new skills is likely to be successful.

Interested in applying or know someone who might be? View the complete job ad and position description on OWLSweb and feel free to contact me with any questions.

OWLS is looking for a new Circulation Librarian, as we sadly had to say good-bye to Emily this week. We wish Emily the best as she moves back to Milwaukee to be closer to family. If you're looking for a new challenge, take a look at the job ad and additional information about this position.

Waupaca Area Public Library also has a sad good-bye coming up with Jerry Brown's retirement approaching in August. You can view their ad for a new Director, and while you're at it, take a look at the nice article about Jerry that came out in the Appleton Post-Crescent recently.
