General

YA Books in Series and Sequels
Bettendorf (IA) Public Library has created a page identifying by title or author "as many series written for or enjoyed by teens as possible." The page includes other links, e.g., to YA authors' web sites and opportunities for YA authors.

The YA Librarians' Homepage
"The YA Librarians' Homepage (formerly known as the Young Adult Librarian's Help/Homepage) is designed to gather resources on and off the Web to help librarians serving teens." Sections include Comic and Graphic Novel Resources, Journals, Organizations and Associations, Literature, Online Resources, Discussion Lists, and Publishers and Distributors. The Online Resources includes, among other things, sections on Programming for Teens and Homeschool Resources.

Virtual YA Index - Public libraries with Young Adult Web Pages
Just what it says: an extensive collection of links to YA web pages. Part of the Suffolk (NY) Cooperative Library System's The YA Librarians' Homepage created by Patrick Jones and maintained by Tracey Firestone (see above).

Reading Rants
"Out of the Ordinary Teen Booklists," recommended by Peg Burington (Waupaca Area Public Library).

Teen Reads
Another site recommended by Peg Burington that features reviews and a newsletter.

Graphic Novels and Comics

Comic Books for Young Adults: A Guide for Librarians
A site "designed to introduce librarians (as well as teachers and parents) to the rich, diverse offerings from today's comics book publishers, and to encourage the acquisition of comic books and graphic novels in libraries serving young adults." Includes sections on formats, genres, collection development issues, recommended comic books, links to other resources on the topic, and more.

Recommended Graphic Novels for Public Libraries
A list developed by an Ohio librarian. All are appropriate, he says, for young adult collections. In addition, he includes a list of 30 books to begin a collection of graphic novels, and another list of links to other web sites on comics and graphic novels.

The Librarian's Guide to Anime and Manga
If you're wondering what anime and manga are or looking for recommended titles or concerned about inappropriate content (violence, nudity, and sex), here's a site by California librarian Gilles Poitras that can begin to answer your questions.
